Dear friends of Bob and Melissa Hill and the Scotland Team:

As you know, the Deeper Skate Church we planted in Dumbarton last summer has been growing steadily. It is now one of the largest youth ministries in Scotland, and has become a phenomenal story of God’s grace reaching out to marginal youth and bringing Jesus Christ to them in a relevant way. Over 100 kids are coming every week to learn more about God and to skate with their friends. Thank you for being a part of this ground-breaking ministry.

With this growth comes a unique challenge. Much of the funding that the Hill’s have normally used to renovate Overtoun House is now being diverted to Deeper. However, the renovation project at Overtoun House must continue. Overtoun House is the foundation of future ministry to the youth community, because it provides permanence and a base for all the outreaches and ministry operations.

In the coming months several teams will travel to Scotland to volunteer their time and skills to do renovation work at Overtoun House. Right now Jerry Caffey and his associates are putting together a container of building materials to be shipped from Mississippi. The container ships in the next few weeks. We need your help!

Why a container? Building material prices in the United States are 75-80% less than in Scotland. In other words, this container of materials will go 3-4 times farther than the same materials if they were purchased in Scotland.

I have committed to Bob to try to raise $35,000 to fill and ship this container. Bob told me that this container will provide all the renovation materials they will need for the next two years! This shipment will take a huge burden off the Hills, because their regular support can stay focused on the most important work – reaching Scottish young people.

Please pray with me about helping with this important need. I hesitate to sound anxious, but the need is urgent because the container must leave within a few weeks. If you can help, please send contributions to Globe and mark them for the “Overtoun House Container.”
