St Helens

Posted by Chris @ 3:56 pm

Well, after a long trip up from St Helens and a bit of confusion with directions, the team made it safely to Overtoun. It is awesome to see familiar faces and see lots of new ones. We are looking forward to a week of fun, work, ministry and more fun!

This afternoon, there is lots of activity with some clean up on the second floor and some outdoor clean up as well. The grounds are looking great!

Faithfulness

Posted by Chris @ 2:23 pm

IT’S WEDNESDAY! We come home in three days I can’t believe it!

Last night’s home group was amazing. Jen Reda spoke on faithfulness and really impacted a lot of people. Then the home group team asked to pray for us and bless us, they prophesied over all of us and spoke a lot of love and hope into our lives. It was incredible the way God spoke through them.

Oh and before they prayed for us they told us that they felt a new “freshness” that we had brought something new over with us and that it is the beginning of newness for them. “It’s like you have broken a damn” Myra the leader of the home group told us! After they blessed us, we prayed and imparted upon them all the anointing and blessing God had given us for this trip! God truly moved not only with that group last night but in our lives as well!

Today we cleaned up ALL the rubble from the demolition! It looks AMAZING, I am especially happy to see it complete. I really dislike rubble. (Matt has gotten on to me about saying hate… to strong of a word)

Blake, Melissa and Jen are going back to Kinrick Kids today, while the rest of us work on cleaning up rooms for the next missions team coming.

Tonight the Youth’s worship team is coming over so we get to hang out with them one last time! And tomorrow is Deeper! We are still excited about what God is going to do these next few days. Pray that he shows himself strong.
Love you and miss you all!

Yardwork

TUESDAY

So I am back! Hope all of you enjoyed Reda’s updates!! Hopefully I can get some others on here to update you guys… mix it up!

Today we went to Elim church and landscaped the backyard. It was actually a lot of fun. We are all pretty tired though so please keep praying that are bodies will be made stronger. “The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”

We also went in two seperate groups today to pray for some sick people within Bob and Melissa’s church, His Family Church.
Tonight, they are having a home group at Overtoun that we will just attend. Nate will be leading worship.

Thank you all again for your prayers. We miss you all!

Fun Day to Edinburgh

Posted by Chris @ 9:21 pm

Today was our fun day!

We took a train, yes a train a real one, to Edinburgh and walked around and shopped and explored all day long. It was cold. We ate dinner at an Indian/Thai place where reading the menu was sketchy and figuring out what it is you ordered was even sketchier. Good thing we had Trina to translate.

We laughed hysterically all day long at Matt Coons who is literally the funniest person I know. Picked up souvenirs and things for people back home (yes we do think of you occasionally).

Right now we are about to have devotions once we get Nathan off the roof. He thinks it’s his kingly perch.

Pray especially for tomorrow I believe we are going to a church to work there and then go pray over sick people. Pray that God’s power is upon us.

Oh and guess what… when we came home today there was a whole plate of Scottish treats and tasty things waiting for us!! At least I think they were for us . . . too late now. Talk to you guys later!

Pipe Bands and Church

Posted by Chris @ 8:29 pm

DAYS 5&6

Hello people!!

Jen Reda reporting from Glasgow.

Yes we are all still alive!

Yesterday was our fun day and we SLEPT which was very fun. Then we went to the Scottish pipe band competition, men, women, and kids walking around in kilts with bagpipes and playing them. A HUGE THANKS to Provost Denis Agnew for the special passes, we had an awesome day!

Made a few purchases–Jen spent all her money on a ferocious belt buckle. Then we explored a lake and a park and a cemetery and basically saw some sights of Glasgow and little surrounding towns (Luss). Dinner was take away fish and chips, and we tried some haggis and black pudding, which is sheep’s blood and it’s GROSSSSSS.

The best part was after dinner, we had a fiery prayer meeting with the missionaries, Esther, Ryan, Chris & Cassy and declared the life and light of the Lord over this whole place!! It was seriously intense. None of us could sleep after cuz we were so worked up.

This morning was church, which we led. Nathan, Trina, and Blake led worship, we had testimonies from Melissa and Dan (Melissa’s especially was very powerful) and Trina preached the word of the Lord about PASSION. Then we prayed for people. I (Jen) was very encouraged because the Lord gave me a word for this man, which I went to him and told him and he told me that someone else had prophesied that over him 20 years ago!! Before I was even born! God is sooooo good.

We just returned from climbing up a huge mountain (coming down was a lot quicker because we rolled). And it’s official–Blake is a crazy wilderness man who frolics down the mountains and does handstands on cliffs. Tonight we have youth group at 6. Farewell from Glasgow the Lord is on the move and we are all so excited.

I miss pizza.

Day 4

Posted by Chris @ 6:18 pm

Deeper went really well last night. There weren’t very many kids because everyone is in the middle of school exams, but we were able to do our skit and it went over great. We had about 10-15 kids approach us and tell us how awesome they thought the skit was. It was really cool. Matt also gave his testimony and I think it impacted alot of kids. They also opened up the trampoline and foam room for us and we were able to do a few tricks ourselves. All in all awesome night.

Today has been a busy work day! We have spent the day cleaning up all the rubble … it was a lot of rubble! By the end, our hair was grey (from all the dust) and our bodies covered! The boys went over to a church members house and are at the moment carrying a piano up FOUR flights of stairs… the girls got off lucky! Tonight, we will have our first meal out on the town and afterwards are going to a church meeting. Revival is breaking out in Scotland!!! A few pastors and ministers went over to Lakeland and got the anointing, and they brought it back with them. They saw us at Deeper and asked Ryan if we would like to come. So we are going to check it out tonight.

Everyone is pretty tired, it’s been a busy week. Pray that our bodies don’t fail us because our spirits are strong!!! We love and miss you all.
